Meet the Cousins

This is us when we're not teaching or baking bread.

We're cousins. Hard to tell right? Andy's students sure thought so the first time Isaac subbed for him.

Now, we're both full fledged teachers in Pagosa who like to bake some bread in our off time.

Andy

If it's not flour on Andy's shirts, it's chalk.

Andy moved to Pagosa to teach 8th grade math in a room with no windows and orange carpet in 2013. It was a great decision. Since then, he's learned better ways to keep his feet warm while he's out biking and boating than wrapping them in plastic bags ... and taken up baking sourdough bread. After repeating 8th grade 7 times, he finally graduated from the middle school and is now teaching math, science, and computer science at San Juan Mountain School as well as coaching mountain biking and eSports.

Isaac

If teaching and baking don't work out, we've been told Isaac could make it as a hand model.

Isaac moved to Pagosa to try out "ski bumming" for a year in 2015, turns out he wasn't very good at it and found a full time job in the school district. That first job as an Aide turned into a teaching position across the hall from Andy and the rest is history. When you come for the skiing and find out the mountain serves up free refills, the boating is out the front door, and the biking is across the street, it's hard to want to leave. Fast forward six years and Isaac hasn't found an agent to support his hand modeling, but the teaching is still working out.

When we are not baking or teaching, we love to spend time outside, particularly biking, skiing, and boating. If you catch us out on the trail, the slopes, or the river, make sure you stop and say hi!

That's Riley on the left. He's another cousin. He likes to bake bread too.

Powder is best shared with your cousin.
